T90 News – July 2023

July 2023 News

Welcome to the T90 July eNewsletter!

We are not quite sure where the first half of the year has gone, but it has been a blur in the finalisation and roll out of the T90 modules. We are excited to have a network of over 1300 people and currently have over 300 participants undertaking the program.

Looking forward, NOW is the time to be forming groups for the spring / summer based modules such as weaning management, carry over reproduction, maximising ewe potential and joining length. Feel free to contact the T90 office on (03) 5571 9001 or to visit the T90 website at www.towards90.com.au to learn more about the different modules and how to get involved.

Thanks also to the 180+ participants that registered to hear our T90 specialist focus farmers discuss all things weaning management a few weeks ago. As always, the panel were really open about their learnings to date, which helps provide invaluable practical insights for all participants.

The T90 team are passionate about helping Australian sheep producers make incremental gains towards achieving the target of 90% foetal survival, so please don’t hesitate to give us a call to discuss how we can help you to reach your reproductive goals.

IN THE MEDIA

It was wonderful to see two features inside The Weekly Times in July of T90 participants, Lucy Fenton and Sam Crawford, who have been following best practices to optimise lamb survival such as adopting shorter joinings, reducing mob sizes and creating dedicated lambing paddocks.

Well done to you both and thanks to The Weekly Times for sharing their stories.

SUCCESSFUL WEANING MANAGEMENT – WEBINAR WRAP UP

Lamb weaning management can be just as important for you as what it is the lamb, in terms of timing and workflow according to Dr Andrew Kennedy.

“It’s not just an event that you set at the same time every year. It’s dynamic within your business when given seasonal constraints, market constraints and it gives you flexibility,” Andrew said.

During a recent webinar with Towards 90 focus farm hosts Tim Leeming (VIC, Paradoo Prime, Pigeon Ponds); Nigel Kerin (NSW, Kerin Agriculture); Clayton South (WA, Wagin), and supported by Jamie Ramage (Ramage Rural Stud Stock) participants soaked in the knowledge passed on.
